This office, which utilizes the Worldtracer-Bahamas automated baggage finding system, operates on behalf of the airlines, offering passengers the following services:
- assistance with missing and damaged baggage (receiving complaints and finding lost baggage)
- managing lost baggage procedures for the first five days of waiting (after which procedures are managed directly by the airlines)
- home delivery of all "lost" baggage belonging to passengers residing in the Florence area
- information on missing baggage
The Lost&Found office is located in the back of the arrivals terminal with access from the main hall and from inside the baggage pick-up area (accessible only to arriving passengers). The realization of the new office and the consequent improvement in passenger service has been made possible through the restructuring of the arrivals area, which has resulted in an increment of nearly 30% in the waiting rooms, an enlargement of 103% in the lost baggage office, an enlargement of 67% in the baggage pick-up area and an extension of 29% in the baggage conveyor belts.
